Google To End Unlimited Storage In 2021

For a lot of users, Google Photos has been a well-used option for photo and video backups. And I myself take advantage of the unlimited high quality storage.

But all good things must come to an end, right?

As of June 1, 2021, Google will no longer offer unlimited backup as an option. So that means any backups will switch over to using your free 15GB allowance.

Google have said that anything backed up prior to that date will be excempt and won’t count towards the allowance.

There are a couple of options for those that still want to backup to Google Photos, when they no longer have 15GB remaining;
Google One, an all-in-one plan that offers storage up to 10TB, which is shared across Google Photos, Drive and Gmail.

If you’re an iOS user and want to bring things closer to home; then Apple offer there own individual iCloud storage plans for up to 2TB.

Apple also offers their own One plan, which integrates all of there digital services (Music, TV+, Arcade, iCloud, News+ and Fitness+) for a set monthly price. And this plan includes the 2TB iCloud storage.

There are plenty of other options out there, but for most. Google & Apple will be the likely choice.
